This past year Lincoln County Health Department (LCHD) set out to improve its internal call transferring (triage) system. Our initial findings indicated that only 44% of reported calls were being transferred to the appropriate staff. A survey was conducted to look into the reasoning for this. Results showed that only half of staff were prescreening calls coming in and that our agency did not have a written procedure for urgent and non-urgent calls. After much work, LCHD implemented new protocols for incoming calls to ensure that they are transferred to the correct staff in a timely manner.
Lincoln County Health Department is always working to improve efficiency and ensure that we are meeting the needs of our customers.
